Renewal and Residential Scholarships
Each year, in addition to the scholarships that we give to graduating students of WHS, the Alumni Association also gives two additional scholarships. One is a Renewal Scholarship and the other is a Residential Scholarship. Both of these scholarships are awarded in August. Official transcripts need to be received no later than the following April 1st for payment to be sent to the school.
The Renewal Scholarship is available to any one who has received a scholarship from us in the previous year. Letters are sent to these recipients notifying them that it is time to apply.
They must be currently enrolled in an accredited school and need only send a certified copy of their previous semester grades along with a letter of interest to be considered, postmarked by August 2. Their name is put into a lottery drawing and one recipient is chosen.
The Residential Scholarship is available to anyone from the community who has been a resident of Wareham for at least two years and not a member of the current WHS graduating class This person may be returning to college after an interruption in their college studies or change in careers mid-life and need some financial assistance.
